About Us

Arts Study

Our members expand their knowledge through programs studying the arts of various countries. During 2017 we have chosen to study the culture and art of Native Americans. Members take turns researching the Arts of the various Native American tribes and share with the group by giving presentations for the monthly meetings or planning trips that give us a personal interaction with Native culture . We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit group.

Friendship & Fun

We enjoy friendships with common interests. We have the desire to have fun doing our part in promoting learning and encouragement of the Arts within our communities.  Our fundraisers are also social events including teas, luncheons, and special programs.  December we will have a themed luncheon and auction. PMAS makes it our mission to use our funds to provide scholarships for students majoring in art, music or drama. We also donate to local drama, music and arts groups including local high school bands and choral programs and the community orchestras. PMAS scholarship opportunities for Kitsap School Districts are offered on  www.thewashboard.org. Scholarships are our first priority, however other awards may be issued after applications are received and/or approved by the membership or the Scholarship Committee.

Paint Out Poulsbo

This year we are hosting our third  POP –  Paint Out Poulsbo, first weekend in June. This includes a separate Plein Air category the Friday before a juried art show and music festival scheduled to be held at The Sons of Norway - a great venue! It will conclude with a special "raise the paddle" during an evening of entertainment. Several sponsors in addition to PMAS are coming together to bring this exciting event to the Poulsbo area. Not only will POP be a benefit to the artists, giving them exposure and opportunity for prize money along with possible sale of their artwork, but the community can enjoy the art and music in a great setting.
